Extension of nuclear deadline pointless

In an interview with 'Iran Daily', published Sunday, Bigdeli said that the

eight rounds of talks witnessed since the government of President Rouhani took office last year, has been at an acceptable level. Many high-ranking politicians were brought to the negotiating table in the course of talks which have been were praiseworthy and positive.

This is while the talks had hit a series of obstacles before the new negotiating team took over. The current session of talks, which can be said to have reached halfway, has been better than the previous one in which we gained better results. Bigdeli was responding to a question by Iran Daily in this regard.

On his opinion that the US government says it has no problem with the increase of the number of centrifuges in Iran, Bigdeli said that this shows the US and President Obama himself has shown flexibility in the talks and this has received good coverage in the media.

Responding to the daily's query whether the US foreign policy is open enough to accept it, given the situation of the nuclear case, the political analyst said, both the US and Iranian governments are under pressure. The White House and Obama himself are experiencing pressure from the Zionist lobby. Congressional elections are approaching and the Obama administration has been placed in a tough situation. The recent meeting between Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shows the intensity of pressure. In Iran, we see whenever the negotiating team returns home after round of talks; it comes under pressure from radicals.

As long as nuclear talks have not produced a final and unified result, both governments will have to bear such pressure, he said in reply to a question posed by the paper in this regard.

On whether he thinks that the November 24 deadline for a final deal will be extended again, he said, he believes that it is highly unlikely and if it is extended, it would be useless because nothing new will take place within the next time span.
