Iran, Turkey urge end to Israel crimes

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu discussed the latest developments in Iraq and Gaza.

The two men urged all countries and international organizations to take prompt measures to stop Israel’s attacks against the Palestinian people and to dispatch humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Israeli warplanes have struck more than 1300 targets across Gaza, which is home to around 1.8 million Palestinians, since July 8. The strikes have so far claimed the lives of 204 with more than 1500 others injured.

According to the United Nations, 80 percent of the casualties have been civilians.

The Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers also stressed the importance of safeguarding Iraq’s unity and integrity and countering acts of terror and moves aimed at disintegrating the Arab state.

The crisis in Iraq escalated after Takfiri ISIL terrorists took control of Mosul on June 10, which was followed by the fall of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of the capital. They have also declared a caliphate in the overrun areas.
