Media reports say at least two dozen others were injured in the ongoing clashes near Ramadi, the capital of Anbar Province.

The city of Ramadi is located some 110 km west of the capital, Baghdad.

The ISIL terrorist group has captured several areas west of Ramadi since the fighting broke out on Thursday afternoon.

Local security officials say the ISIL militants have seized a police station there and blown up another one.

Iraq’s security forces have been engaged in fierce fighting with the Takfiri militants in various parts of the country since early June.

On June 10, the ISIL Takfiri militants gained control of Mosul, the provincial capital of Iraq’s Nineveh Province, which was followed by the fall of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of Baghdad.

This is while Iraq's UN Ambassador Mohamed Ali al-Hakim informed Secretary General Ban Ki-moon that the ISIL terrorist group has taken control of about 40 kilograms of uranium compounds housed at Mosul University.

Al-Hakim says the nuclear materials could enable terrorists to carry out terrorist acts or manufacture weapons of mass destruction.

The terrorist groups have links with Saudi intelligence and it is believed that they are being indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has also blamed Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the security crisis and growing terrorism in his country, denouncing Riyadh as a major supporter of global terrorism.

Senior Muslim clerics have condemned the ISIL atrocities, including mass executions and rape.
