Hamid Baidinezhad said on Saturday that the talks, which wrapped up in the Austrian capital of Vienna earlier in the day, covered a series of technical issues and the two sides would present the outcome to their capitals.

“A series of topics… were discussed during the past three days, which incorporated different aspects of various issues,” Baidinezhad said.

The three-day talks will be followed by discussions between senior negotiators from Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - China, Russia, Britain, France and the United States - plus Germany.

The negotiations, which are set to kick off in Vienna on Tuesday, are aimed at reaching a final agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program.

Iran and the Sextet of world powers clinched a landmark interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013.

Under the deal, dubbed the Geneva Joint Plan of Action, the six countries undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period. It was also agreed that no nuclear-related sanctions will be imposed on Iran within the same timeframe. The agreement took effect on January 20.
