FM welcomes promotion of Khorasan Razavi ties with foreign countries

Foreign Minister, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, on Friday welcomed development of exchanges and relationships between Khorasan Razavi province of Iran and foreign countries.

In a meeting with governor general of the province, Ali Reza Rashidian, Zarif voiced his ministryˈs readiness to help the province in the field.

Noting that Foreign Ministryˈs Mission in North and East is the greatest and most significant mission in the country, Zarif said that the officials should make optimal use of the capacity available to help promote Iranˈs relationships with other countries, neighboring states in particular.

Rashidiyan, for his part, referred to the provinceˈs geographical location and said that Khorasan Razavi Province as the gateway to Central Asia enjoys a special status among the exporting countries.

He also called for dispatching provincial businessmen to various countries to get acquainted with investment opportunities in the countries.

Referring to visit of more than 25 foreign pilgrims and tourists to Mashhad each year and tourism attractions in the city, the governor general noted that optimal use of the opportunities will help generate sustainable job opportunities and further promotion of the provinceˈs economy.
