Islamic Unity conference reveals true image of Wahhabism
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hassan Nowrozi, deputy for Tehran Province in Iran’s Parliament elaborated on vitality of Islamic unity conference stressing proximity of religions as cornerstone of solidarity in the world of Islam.

Iranian Member of Parliament noted that the annual international event has been able to show the true face of Wahhabism and the enemies of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The vice-chairman of the Legal and Judicial Commission of Islamic Consultative Assembly( Parliament), in an interview with TNA parliamentary reporter, while emphasizing the fact that the proximity of religions is a prelude to the unity of the Islamic world, said the international conferences of Islamic unity have had a central and effective impact in bringing about proximity of various Islamic schools of thought and certainly this forum has been able to bring together scholars from Kurdistan, Gonbad, Sistan and Baluchistan, Qom seminary and across the Islamic world.
The representative of Rabat Karim and Baharestan constituency said what we are witnessing today is that the scholars of Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Shia and Sunni are in touch with each other in recent years, as the result of holding the unity conference.
pointing out that the Unity Conference has shown its central impact this year, Hojjatoleslam Hassan Nowrozi said today Wahhabism makes huge investments to destroy the face of Islam adding that they do everything to prevent scholars and thinkers from meeting or even communicating with each other.
Stating that Iran's Islamic Revolution has brought thinkers and scholars closer to each other, Noroozi said we see that many Christians provide services to Iranian pilgrims during Arbaeen marches inside Iraq and many Sunnis visit the Holy city of Mashhad and during the Hajj ceremony, Shiites take part in Sunni congregational prayers.
Wahhabism and the usurping regime of Israel have in vain, done their utmost to undermine this religious unity and empathy, and have invested heavily, both financially and culturally to achieve their malign objectives but their machinations will be definitely thwarted and will result only in more vigilance among scholars and thinkers.
He expressed his views on the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference on the eve of the annual event held in the capital Tehran on October 9-14.
Following two years of restrictions imposed by the pandemic infection, the 36th Islamic Unity Conference is held in virtual and in presence meetings as Muslim scholars, thinkers and intellectuals from across the globe discuss “Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the Islamic World” during Islamic Unity Week concurrent with birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
