Iran’s Qur’an News Agency (IQNA) has conducted an interview with French political analyst, Pierre Dortiguier on the anniversary of the historical message issued by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei over the flagrant disrespect of the Prophet of Islam by French President Emmanuel Macron under the pretext of practicing freedom of expression, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Pierre Dortiguier, professor emeritus of the University of Toulouse, hailed the positive feedback of the Leader's message due to its conciseness which has multiplied its efficacy.

The French professor related on the dual reaction by the French President Emmanuel Macron on freedom to disrespect religious sanctities and said,” What surprises a lot of French families is why President Macron, who was a student at the Society of Jesus, allows freedom for desecration of religious sanctities.”

Pierre Dortiguier called Macron’s remarks as “disappointing” and “an inaccurate understanding from freedom of expression.”

He said,” This is not a hypocritical but a totally wrong method since freedom is never at the service of tyranny” and added,” Freedom is not the starting point but an end when it is maintained by all those people in charge of performing order in a society.”

He noted,” My generation was able to discuss its views on all topics from WWI and WWII while the current generation is not allowed to talk about Holocaust since any discussion on that could be sued.”

He warned of a deep and developing de-Christianization and de-Islamization which is hardly understood because the people are studying less and understanding less.

He expressed regret over the inefficient educational system and that the younger generation has no knowledge on basic facts like the Balfour Declaration and the issue of Palestine.
