Muslim, Christian scholars should compose ‘counter-violence charter’

Deputy at Iran’s major Islamic unity center slammed the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka and execution spree in Saudi Arabia calling on Muslim and Christian scholars to compose a ‘counter-violence charter.’


Seyyed Ahmad Zarhani, strategic deputy of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) denounced the multiple terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka calling Islam as the religion of understanding and compassion.
 
He quoted the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini and Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressing Islam as the religion of understanding firmly opposing extremism.
 
Zarhani noted expansion of logicality, justice, fraternity and philanthropy as the shared mission of all Unitarian religions.
 
Strategic deputy of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought expressed regret over the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks calling on the Christian and Muslim scholars across the globe to convene and compose a charter to confront violence and expand moderation among religions.
 
Seyyed Ahmad Zarhani also denounced the execution of Saudi nationals and said,” Al-Saud, in execution of 37 people, has paved the way for topple of the Arab regime in Riyadh.”
