Cleric calls for introducing true face of Islam via cultural activities

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations in an interview with Hawza News in Kurdistan criticized the numerous readings of Islam many of which inaccurate readings, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He denounced the dark image presented from Islam by the west, a view which necessitates solutions to cleanse the minds of people from negative and anti-Islamic representations.

Head of the University of Islamic Denominations added,” With terrorist groups which work under the name of Islam, the image of holy religion is tarnished in the minds of the people; hence, elites, students, researchers and cultural activists fade and eliminate this image of Islam.”

Iranian scholar called for launching Islamic universities across the world in a bid to introduce the holy religion to the world and eliminate the misconceptions about Islam.

“Unity among Muslims should be stressed in line with bringing different denominations closer and that disagreements hatched be the enemies are resolved” said Hujjat-ul-Islam Mokhtari.

He stressed correction of misconceptions on Islam and boosting relations between different Islamic denominations as the objectives of the University of Islamic Denominations.
