Muslim world and necessity of realizing Islamic unity

Muslim scholars clearly carry a heavy burden of proposing Islamic unity and proximity of denominations to prevent the people involvement in disagreements and sectarian dispersion.
Muslim world and necessity of realizing Islamic unity
Hujjat-ul-Islam Abbas Jafari, secretary of cultural council of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Forum in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) have detailed on the present situation in the world of Islam, confrontation with Islamophobia, role of the clerics for boosting unity and also necessity of realizing Islamic unity.

Q: Islamophobia has been activated in confrontation with expansion of Islam in the world. What is your comment on the issue and what is the solution against these anti-Islamic activities?

A: World arrogant powers have been carrying out covert and also clear plans to undermine Islam and these plans include, denial of religion and expansion of nihilist view on aims behind creation, indiscriminate stance of the believers and non-believers in after life world and denial of resurrection and also blaming the poor and the weak for lack of power and talents to move out of their misery.

The result of such worldview is the material world in the west which prevents people embracing true religion, Islam.

At present western media are in constant struggles to prevent people joining Islam in their round the clock propagandas; therefore, it is our mission to note hostile plans for Islamophobia and confront them with all possible means.

Q: In your opinion what is the duty of governments, nations and Muslim world clerics for practical unity among all Muslims?

A: Islamic proximity and solidarity are among the greatest objectives of Shia and Sunni prominent elites who are loyal to Islam and enthusiastic to promotion of Qur’anic and Islamic teachings.

Prominent Muslim figures like Seyyed Jamal al-Din Assadabadi (1838/1839-1897), Muhammad Iqbal Lahori (1877- 1938), Muḥammad 'Abduh (1849-1905) and late Imam Khomeini (RA) (1902-1989) have proposed their ideas on ways to boost Islamic unity since long. Muslim nations have also been following scholars and carried out their duties towards the end.

There are also some ignorant people who take Islamic unity as a marginal issue and fueled unimportant matters. Muslim scholars clearly carry a heavy burden of proposing Islamic unity and proximity of denominations to prevent the people involvement in disagreements and sectarian dispersion. The are supposed to explain importance of Islamic proximity and try to foil efforts by enemies in line with creation and expansion of unity in the world of Islam.

Apparently efforts by Muslim governments, particularly Islamic Republic of Iran, should be set as example for other world governments and Muslim nations in the region. Contributions and cooperation by Islamic Republic of Iran to hold annual Islamic Unity Conference by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is among the admirable measures which should be appreciated.

Q: Takfiri groups like Daesh and Al Nusra Front are starting a new wave with their inaccurate interpretation of Islam. What solution do you propose for that?

A: Appearance of Takfiri and terrorist groups like Daesh has several reasons among them tendency of these groups to Takfiri thoughts by extremist scholars like Ibn Kathir (1300-1373), Ibn Qayyem al Jawziyya (1292-1350), Ibn Taymiyyah (1263-1328), Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab (1703-1792).

Among other reasons are ignorance and lack of knowledge among the people in the Arab peninsula and Muslims in some other areas, intrigues and materialist plots of some corrupt tribal leaders like Al Saud and also support by some colonial powers like Britain and the US for intriguing movements including Wahhabism.

The best solution to prevent this threatening movement is informing pro-Daesh people and serious confrontation with their violent behavior as well as releasing those captured by them.

At present the people in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, particularly Hezbollah forces and popular mobilization forces, backed by Islamic Republic of Iran have blown serious damages to them. Also the role of UN-confirmed international coalition, especially Russia, should not be ignored.

Q: How have enemies fueled the fire among Muslims and to what extent have they been successful?

A: Sworn enemies of Islam, world arrogant powers and colonial countries, have made the most efforts to divide Muslims and support intriguers and have achieved their objectives to some extent.

Among the achievements for colonial powers are massacre, bloodshed and looting of Muslims as well as sparking sectarian clashes. As the result of this achievement they made it to sell their weaponries and on the other hand dominated Muslim wealths.
