Iran holds Islamic courses in Kyrgyzstan universities

Iranian scholar criticized inaction of Islamic universities to provide the ground for expansion of Wahhabi ideology in Kyrgyzstan universities.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Yahya Jahangiri, manager of international affairs at Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations hailed cultural commonalities of Iran and Kyrgyzstan and called for more active presence of Iranian scholars in the central Asian state, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Iranian and Kyrgyz universities have held joint educational courses where the former has deployed its representatives from among Muslim scholars at the University of Islamic Denominations.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Jahangiri noted,” Despite the fact that the majority of Kyrgyz population are Muslims and they have many cultural commonalities with Iran, our inactivity in Kyrgyz Universities has resulted in serious activities of wahhabism here”
 
Iran has held the courses following a previous memorandum of understanding between international University of Kyrgyzstan and University of Islamic Denominations in a trip made by head of University of Islamic denominations Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari.

More than 100 MA and PhD students and instructors have attended the course.
 
Muslim unity, the policy of Islamic Republic of Iran based on Islamic thoughts, Islamic diplomacy, the role of Shia and Sunni communities in Iran, the discussion of Islamic philosophy and cultural religious commonalities between Iran and Kyrgyzstan were among the topics covered in this course.
 
At the end of the course certificates were issued for all participants.
