Ceremony hails families of martyred religious minorities in Iran

Interfaith solidarity meeting is held on the eve of the 40th anniversary of Islamic Revolution in Iran marking the families of religious minorities whose members were martyred in 1979 revolution.

Conference on “Spiritual Solidarity of Religions for Honor of Iran” was held at the headquarter of the center in Tehran hailing families of Christian and Zoroastrian martyrs of the Islamic Revolution and Iraq war, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Families of religious minorities including mother of Farhad Khadem, Zoroastrian martyr of the Iraq war, Forouq Menha, mother of three Muslim martyrs, Matarineh Honarchian mother of Zoric Moradi, the first Christian martyr of the Iraq and a number of others were hailed in this ceremony.
 
Top religious figures and representatives of each minority groups attended the ceremony.
 
The ceremony opened with recitation of verses from the holy Qur’an, holy Bible, Torah and Avesta by representatives of each religious group.
On the eve of the 40th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution conference on “Spiritual Solidarity of Religions for Honor of Iran” was held by the Organization of Culture and Islamic Relations in Tehran on Monday January 15.
 
Iran is home to Christian, Zoroastrian and also Jewish people besides the majority of Muslims, both Shia and Sunni denominations.
