Turkish official calls for valuing Islamic denominations as asset

Turkish director of religious affairs hailed the variety of denominations in Islam saying the differences between these groups should be sought and esteemed as an asset.

Ali Erbas, Turkish Director of Religious Affairs, stressed energy of Muslims should not be focused on disagreements as boosting Islamic unity and confrontation with enemies should be prioritized for Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He quoted the holy Qur’an verses stressing necessity of unity among Muslims and warned,” We should all follow these guidelines because when division spreads enemies make the best of the opportunity to hatch plots against Muslims.”
 
Turkish figure referred to geographical and religious commonalities between Iran and Turkey calling for efforts to make use of these shared features for promotion of both countries.
 
Ali Erbas also related on importance of respecting the differences among Islamic schools of thought and said,” There are different denominations and religious groups which should be sought an asset.”
 
Turkish figure touched upon the issue of Islamophobia and leading role of Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey to confront the issue saying,” Both countries should take steps in line with confrontation with the plot hatched by western countries.”
 
He warned the misconceptions on Islam leading the younger generation towards terror and urged for joint moves by Iran and Turkey to abort hostile moves in this line.
