“Interfaith convergence, sole way against deviate movements”, cleric

Director of al-Mustafa international research center stressed importance of finding common capabilities between Islam and Christianity and highlighted interfaith convergence as sole way to confront deviate, extremist and atheist movements.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hussein Mottaqi, director of al-Mustafa international research center, in the fifth round of interfaith meeting between Shia Islam and Romania Orthodox church  held in the Iranian holy city of Qom stressing that peace will be achieved merely through convergence and compassion of different religions, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He expressed regret over the violence and organizations active in Yemen, Iraq and Syria and added,” Religious convergence and constant meeting of the religious elites plus discovering the interfaith capabilities will result in peace.”
 
The scholar also highlighted the role of religious art as the common discourse of different religions through which different faiths can reach the desired convergence for constructive interactions.
 
According to the cleric expansion of religious art will prevent atheism stressing necessity of artistic dialogue between religious.
 
He reiterated peace and avoiding extremism as two basic teachings in all monotheistic religions based on which war and violence can be prevented.
