Religious leaders convene to discuss counter-terrorism efforts

Religious figures and traditional leaders have convened in the Kazakh capital of Astana to demand all leaders across the globe for a global movement against terrorism.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, in his speech at 6th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Astana related on terrorism and necessity of religious leaders endeavoring in a campaign against the issue, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The cleric in his speech defined terrorism and stressed necessity of drawing a line between terrorism and liberal movements in the world stressing the different forms through which terrorism appears.
 
He warned of cultural and economical terrorism among many other forms plaguing world countries.
 
The cleric in his speech referred to the United States imposing economic sanction against different nations (and not particularly Iran) and slammed Washington for pressing any government following a different diplomacy approved by the US.
 
Iranian cleric expressed gratitude over Iran’s participation in the meeting attended by prominent leaders and religious figures from other countries and said several meetings with Kazakh luminaries were also held on the sideline of the congress.
 
Leading a delegation of Shia and Sunni dignitaries from Iran, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought attended the 6th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
 
Head of al-Azhar University from Egypt and Iran’s Ayatollah Araki represented Muslim world in this congress.
