Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought focused on repercussions of terrorism in his speech at sixth conference of religious leaders held in the Kazakh capital of Astana demanding for clear lines to be drawn between real terrorism and liberal movements, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Armed attacks and assassination is only a form of terrorism besides present types of cultural, economic and political terrorism.”
 
The cleric warned of cultural terrorism which endeavors to invade and annihilate identity of nations.
 
Ayatollah Araki yet counted economic terrorism as the most dangerous type of terrorism and slammed the United States over imposing economic sanctions against several nations.
 
Member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts also denounced countries which provoke or threat other countries to sever ties with a target country only because of their different views.
 
He hailed Islamic Republic of Iran for giant steps it took for counter-terrorism campaign making the biggest achievements for the objective.
 
Iranian Shia cleric attending Astana meeting as a Muslim representative proposed launching a permanent committee of religious figures to pursue efforts for settling tensions across the globe.
