Trump denies wrongdoing playboy model, calls Cohen’s tape ‘perhaps illegal’

US President Donald Trump has rejected any wrongdoing on playboy model raps his lawyer for taping him while discussing the case.
Trump denies wrongdoing playboy model, calls Cohen’s tape ‘perhaps illegal’
"Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer's office (early in the morning) - almost unheard of," Trump wrote on Twitter Saturday morning. "Even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client - totally unheard of & perhaps illegal. The good news is that your favorite President
did nothing wrong!"

The tape is among troves of documents and materials seized by the FBI after raiding the New York home of Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen in April.

The recording about the former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, occurred prior to the 2016 election, which yielded President Trump.

Trump and Cohen are heard in the recording while they are discussing paying hush money to McDougal, who says she had an affair with Trump in 2006, shortly after the birth of his youngest son.

Trump has been under pressure over growing allegations of sexual misconduct.

Cohen's attorney, Lanny Davis, told CNN in a statement that the recording would not hurt his client.

"Obviously, there is an ongoing investigation and we are sensitive to that," Davis said. "But, suffice it so say, that when the recording that has been widely reported is heard, it will not hurt Mr. Cohen. And any attempt to spin cannot change
what is on the tape."

Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani has claimed that the recording, which occurred at Trump Tower in September 2016, is not detrimental to Trump, making Davis wonder why the president and his lawyer are "so angry."

“Nothing in that conversation suggests that he had any knowledge of [the AMI payment] in advance,” Giuliani said. “In the big scheme of things, it’s powerful exculpatory evidence.”

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels also claims she was paid by Cohen for her silence before the 2016 vote, a decade after her affair with Trump.

Daniels, an adult-film actress whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing to void a nondisclosure agreement brokered by Cohen that prohibits her from speaking publicly about the alleged affair.
