The Embassy of Kuwait in London has called on its citizens to take caution next week after anonymous letters were sent to people in at least six communities in England calling for a day of attacks against Muslims.
Kuwait UK embassy advises caution ahead of ‘Punish a Muslim Day’
The “Punish a Muslim” campaign offers point-based “rewards” for those who attack and abuse Muslims, including “verbal abuse”, pulling head-scarves off, beating up a Muslim, “butchering” a Muslim and burning a mosque.
Following the messages, video clips of assaults against cars with plates from Gulf states in London circulated on social media.
The videos showed a masked person spraying words such as “war” on car which have been imported from the Middle East.
The recent attacks have raised concerns among Kuwaitis who are preparing to travel to the UK for study, tourism or treatment.
