Iran’s exports to Russia grows by 36 per by 36%

Farhad Parand went on to say. "The figures for foreign trade turnover between the two sides reveal that Iran’s export to Russia rose from 168 million dollars in the first half of 2016 to as much as 228 million dollars in the same period in the ongoing year."

The added that the Iranian side had made an outstanding effort to realize a substantial growth in the country’s transactions with Russia.

Parand stated that, in the first half of the year 2017, Iran had deployed products worth 228 million dollars to Russia and imported 509 million dollars from the Eurasian country.

The Iranian official, while referring to a 16-percent fall in Iran’s purchases from Russia, asserted that “Iran's imports from Russia dropped from 594 million dollars in the first half of 2016 to 509 million dollars in the same period in 2017.”

He later touched upon the possibility of bolstering economic ties between Tehran and Moscow adding “a four-day session on Iran-Russia trade, industry and mining cooperation will convene in the Russian city of Astrakhan on October 25.”

The meeting will be attended by representatives from Iranian companies in related fields, including mining, agricultural machinery, gas, oil, automobile industry, livestock, dairy products, chemicals and petrochemicals, banking and investment among the others.

Due to the planning by Russian authorities for the maximum participation of the country’s companies in the meetings, there would be a good opportunity for consultation and boosting bilateral and multilateral cooperation on trade, production, joint exports and needs assessment.

It is worth noting that major exported goods from Iran to Russia include dairy, poultry, eggs, aquatic, shoes, flowers which need financial support from the government.

As announced by the Russian Ambassador to Iran, Levan Dzhagaryan, total volume of trade volume between Iran and Russia stood at 2.2 billion dollars in Russia mainly pertaining to shipment of machineries, equipment, transportation, food industries as well as Russian metals.
