Quds day reminds Muslims of their duty toward oppressed nation

President of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) lauded Imam Khomeini for designating Al-Quds day in solidarity with the Palestinians noting the late Founder of Islamic Revolution, by doing so, tried to remind Muslims' of their religious and humane duty toward all oppressed nations including Palestinians.

"Quds day is an Islamic epic day which of its nature can dismiss all ethnic and socialist solutions; it place stress on the solution offered by divine Islam," underlined the religious cleric.

"Quds day is the declares the regime of Zionism illegitimate, " pointed out the President of the Supreme Council of the World Forum stressing during the day all nations slam the regime and its crimes in the region.

"I believe," Ayatollah Taskhiri went on to stress," Jerusalem al-Quds is of the main issue in the World of Islam; all religion respect this land as it is Muslims' first qibla (the direction toward which Muslims pray)."

In Iran and other world countries, Millions of people from all walks of life took to the streets for the annual event which falls on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. They chanted "Death to Israel" and "Death to America", burning the Israeli flag.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the rallies in the Iranian capital, the demonstrators renewed their call for the liberation of Palestine from the Israeli occupation as a cause of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Jerusalem al-Quds remains at the core of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, with Palestinians hoping for the eastern part of the city to eventually become the capital of their independent state.
