“Peaceful decisions for Jerusalem al-Quds”

Religious figure from Mount Athos, Greece, called Jerusalem as the holy city of all Abrahamic confessions demanding peaceful decisions to be made for the sacred city.

Isidoros Orthodox monk from Mount Athos, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) referred to the issue of Palestine as a problem which concerns all people.

Participant to an international conference on the “Jerusalem, the Eternal Capital of Palestine” said problems like the issue of Palestine should be settled with the help of communications and constant talks.

He said,” We should discuss and bring our solutions to the forum so that our thoughts are supported on other levels in a bid to draw attention of other authorities who can bring in reasonable decisions.”

Greek participant to al-Quds conference in the holy city of Mashhad stressed the role of spiritual leaders who both listen to and are heard by the people.

Isidoros referred to Jerusalem al-Quds as the the city, which unites representatives of all confessions to which the history of Christianity is tightly connected with.

“We (Abrahamic religions) all share more or less same eschatological perspective” he said and demanded all people to be confident in God.

Mount Athos, monastic republic in Greece jurisdiction but the community consists not only of Greeks but of Russians, Serbians, Bulgarians, Romanians, Georgians and other nationalities so they are all united on Orthodox basics.
