The ICJ issued its order on Thursday, citing the deteriorating conditions of life in Gaza, where famine and starvation are rapidly spreading as a result of the stifling Israeli blockade. The judges emphasized that Palestinians in Gaza are no longer merely at risk of famine but are already experiencing its dire consequences.
"As Christians around the world prepare to commemorate the final suffering in the earthly life of Jesus Christ during Holy Week, we stand in solidarity with all in the Holy Land who suffer," began the letter.
“The Israeli enemy directly targeted an ambulance centre belonging to the Lebanese Ambulance Association – the Islamic Emergency and Relief Corps in the village of Hebbariyeh, in the Arqoub area of Hasbaya district,” the group said in a statement yesterday.
Local sources reported that six civilians waiting for humanitarian aid were killed after being targeted by Israeli` bullets and artillery shells in the Gaza Industrial Zone, east of Gaza City.
