Iran's Minister of Oil, Javad Owji, met with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro at Sa'adabad Palace to discuss bilateral relations.

Javad Owji met with Bulgarian Energy Minister Virgil-Daniel Popescu, and Romanian Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov, on Friday in Baku on the sidelines of Baku Energy Week.

Those Western countries that are following the US in imposing sanctions on Iran are now in need of gas and oil due to the war they waged between Russia and Ukraine. 

Iran and Armenia seek to develop their relations in various fields.

“We have to pay special attention to knowledge-based firms and develop their activities in the oil industry,” he stressed.

 Javad Owji paid a visti to Venezuela .

Ortega and Iranian senior official discussed ways of boosting ties.

Owji stated that the 300,000-barrel Shahid Soleimani petro-refinery is the first concentrated petro-refining project in the country, and its construction will begin in April next to the Persian Gulf Star refinery.

With the coming to power of the 13th administration, the development of the oil industry received more attention, while there was no change in the conditions of sanctions against Iran, however, as the president has stressed, oil exports have increased by more than 40%.

The minister made the remarks after the 27th OPEC and Non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting, held via video conference on Thursday, March 31, 2022, and said, “as speculated, OPEC+’ decision today was almost similar to last month, with a slight increase in their crude oil output for May 2022, raising it from 400,000 bpd to 432,000 bpd.
