Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated before departing New York for Tehran on Saturday, September 27, 2025, that Iran’s participation in the 80th United Nations General Assembly was an opportunity to present the country’s positions and convey the voice of its martyrs and oppressed people.
The President of Iran stated: “Iran, the world’s oldest continuous civilization, has always stood firm against the storms of history. This nation, with its grand spirit and enduring will, has repeatedly proven that it does not bow to invaders; and today, it stands tall against aggressors, relying on the power of faith and national unity.”
Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian described the United Nations General Assembly as a unique opportunity to clearly present the principled positions of the Islamic Republic. Speaking before his departure to New York, he emphasized that true convergence among nations depends on respecting the right to life and human security.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian said on Sunday that Palestine stands at the threshold of a significant and eventful week, with the international community turning its attention to the Palestinian cause.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a letter to the UNSG, UNSC President and UNGA Presidents on Friday, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran views their responsible statements as a significant and encouraging step in taking the UN toward a consistent and non-discriminatory approach to combat terrorism.
Granting the mandate of compiling a country-specific report to the Secretary-General on human rights, while there is an international expert mechanism in this regard, is basically unreasonable and illogical as well as both unnecessary and unprofessional.
