Far-right Israeli minister of finance, Bezalel Smotrich has claimed that nearly 70% of the Gaza Strip is occupied by the regime forces calling for immediate establishment of Jewish settlements in the war-torn territory.

The European Union’s foreign policy chief has called on Tel Aviv regime to reject the remarks by Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich denying existence of Palestinian nation.

"We were appalled by the Israeli minister's statements regarding the Palestinian village of Huwara. These statements are unacceptable and irresponsible," French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anne-Claire Legendre told reporters.

“The comments made by Smotrich are unacceptable. They incite to indiscriminate violence in a situation which is already extremely tense,” said the EU in a press statement.
