Flame of “Al-Aqsa Flood” Will Not Be Extinguished — Hamas Commemorates Martyrdom Anniversary of Yahya Sinwar
The statement recalled: “A year has passed since the heroic saga led by Commander Yahya Sinwar, who stood at the heart of the battle with courage and defiance, ending his life of jihad and struggle with martyrdom.”
Hamas highlighted the achievements of the resistance following Sinwar’s death, including a major national agreement that thwarted enemy plans and led to the end of genocidal war, starvation, and forced displacement. The “Al-Ahrar Storm” prisoner exchange resulted in the release of 1,968 Palestinian detainees, breaking the pride of Zionist jailers.
The movement honored Sinwar’s legacy: “From his youth, he lived in the field of jihad. During 23 years of imprisonment, he resisted with steadfastness and broke the will of his captors. After his release, he continued organizing and preparing until October 7, 2023, when he led a decisive blow against the occupying regime, shaking its foundations and shattering the myth of its invincible army—ultimately falling as a martyr among his fighters.”
Hamas reiterated: “The martyrdom of Commander Sinwar and other leaders only strengthens our resolve and loyalty to their sacrifice. The flame of ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ will remain lit, fueled by commitment to rights, principles, and national unity.”
The statement concluded with a tribute: “Rest in peace, Abu Ibrahim. You fulfilled your trust, fought in God’s path, and humbled the enemy. Though your body is not among us in Gaza, your spirit soars in the heavens, bearing witness to the eternal glory of Palestine and its martyrs. The enemy failed in its aggression and was forced into a ceasefire, returning its captives only under the conditions set by the resistance.”
Hamas prayed for divine mercy and eternal honor for Yahya Sinwar and all martyrs, asking God to grant them a place in the highest paradise among prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
