According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Sunni imams in Golestan province addressed current issues in their recent Friday sermons. "Akhund Muhammad Amin Safar," the Sunni Imam of Faraghi, stated that the Unity Week and the birth anniversary of the Prophet (PBUH) is an opportunity for Muslims to unite and stand against arrogance.
He said that the Prophet’s way of life would never allow Muslims to live under the yoke and pressure of arrogant powers.
Recalling the dire situation in Gaza, Akhund Safar condemned the painful silence of international bodies and Islamic countries, calling it a sign of indifference to human tragedies. He added that the "bloodthirsty Zionists" have violated international laws by bombing mosques and hospitals. He also praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for standing with the oppressed people of Palestine.
In this regard, "Akhund Yousef Iri," the Sunni Imam of Sijval, condemned the unprecedented silence and inaction of Islamic countries and international organizations regarding the ongoing atrocities in Gaza. He called for comprehensive global support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
In another part of their sermons, the imams commemorated Government Week and paid tribute to the late martyrs Rajaei and Bahonar. "Akhund Mohammad Ahmadi," the Sunni Imam of Kalaleh, stated that the week serves as a reminder for all officials to provide sincere service to the people, achieve social justice, and support the deprived.
The imams also underscored the necessity of understanding and following the Prophet Muhammad’s conduct. "Akhund Naser Mohammad Ghezel," from Qazanghayeh, defended the tradition of reciting eulogies (Mawlid-Khani) in praise of the Prophet, stating it is a sign of love for him, not an innovation as some claim. "Akhund Allahgholi Toumaj," the Friday prayer leader of Anbar-Aloum, highlighted simplicity, honesty, trustworthiness, and humility as some of the Prophet’s most prominent characteristics.
