According to Taghrib News Agency, Esmail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, referred to the recent visit of the president to Armenia, saying: "This trip was in line with the policy of good neighborliness and strengthening relations with neighbors; a policy that has been seriously pursued during the 13th and 14th governments."

He added: "Armenia is one of Iran's important neighbors in the South Caucasus. Although it has the shortest common border with our country, this border has always been secure and stable and has strategic importance."
Baghaei stated that the topics of discussion in Yerevan included the signing of at least 10 cooperation documents in the fields of agriculture, trade, culture, education, technology, tourism, transportation, and energy. He explained that in addition to these, recent regional developments, especially the trends of the past two weeks in the Caucasus, were also on the agenda.
According to him, Tehran has been the initiator and supporter of the peace agreement between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and emphasizes the swift conclusion of this agreement as a foundation for sustainable security in the region.
He referred to the meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of this trip, saying that this was the first face-to-face dialogue between the two ministers after the release of the peace agreement statement, although Armenian officials had also visited Tehran before, and phone calls had been made. Baghaei evaluated these interactions as positive with clear and transparent positions from both sides.
On Belarus
The spokesperson then turned to the president's second destination, Belarus, and said: "Relations between Iran and Belarus have always been stable and growing since this country's independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union."
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson listed the areas of cooperation as technology, economy, and agriculture. Recalling the two countries' shared positions in opposing unilateralism and international lawlessness, he added: "Tehran and Minsk have had constructive cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement, and important documents will be signed during this trip to open a new chapter in relations."
The Importance of Unity
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that national unity and solidarity in the face of the excesses of foreign powers, as well as strengthening relations with neighboring countries, are two fundamental pillars for ensuring national security and interests.
He warned that any kind of conflict and division among regional countries creates an opportunity for extra-regional powers to take advantage, an issue that has been seen in recent crises in Syria and other surrounding countries.
Baghaei concluded by referring to the cooperation between Iran and Armenia, calling this relationship an example of effective convergence to secure borders and expand regional cooperation. He described the government's recent diplomatic moves as part of a comprehensive foreign policy roadmap that simultaneously pursues security, national interests, and an active role in the regional order.
