Aref mentioned that the establishment of centers, the formation of a network of young science, technology, and innovation ambassadors among Islamic countries, and the launch of free or low-cost platforms in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and nanotechnology should be given serious attention by Islamic countries.
He pointed out that the share of the Islamic world in scientific production, technological development, and economic value creation in the field of artificial intelligence is estimated to be less than 5%. He noted that this figure is significantly distant from the potential and capacities of Islamic countries. It is crucial to develop an intergovernmental program and foster active cooperation among Islamic countries to increase their share in the global artificial intelligence market.
The second meeting of the Ministers of Higher Education of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dialogue Platform began on Sunday in Tehran.
