Strategic Unity is Essential

The enemy seeks to activate fault lines of discord between Shia and Sunni and to separate Iran's destiny from the Islamic Ummah, pursuing a path to marginalize national identity among ethnic groups and denominations in Islamic Iran. This demands 100% vigilance from the establishment, intellectual and religious elites, and all those who care about and are pained by the cause of unity.
Strategic Unity is Essential
Seyyed Alaeddin Heydari, a Sunni civil activist, has written in a note: Unity and brotherhood do not mean the assimilation of one into the other or merging into one another. Rather, unity means being side by side, for one another, and together on the axis of commonalities.

Unity means placing differences on the margins and commonalities at the center and core. Unity means relying on shared principles and avoiding separation and division. Unity means accepting one another and being together. In a word, unity means reaching that level of religious, political, and social understanding where we accept others alongside ourselves.

With this introduction, we realize that unity means that while we see ourselves at the source of truth, we also consider others as having the right to sit at the source of truth.

Unity and solidarity create power, while division and fragmentation weaken and cause defeat. History regards the strength and flourishing of civilizations as stemming from their unity, and conversely, the decline and fall of civilizations as stemming from their division. Thus, every nation and society finds its peak of growth in internal unity and cohesion, and undoubtedly, destruction is the inevitable fate of fragmented and dispersed societies.

This condition certainly applies even more so to the Islamic Ummah. That is, when the Islamic Ummah moves around the axis of unity and relies on commonalities, the result is nothing but power and dignity, and the internal cohesion of the Islamic Ummah yields nothing but authority and strength.

In a situation where historical evidence and objective facts, along with numerous experiences, testify that the world of powers has been one of colonialism and exploitation, and that the powerful see the world beyond themselves as their subjects and slaves, and consider themselves entitled to predatory rights, there is no room for us to sing the song of separation.

The Islamic Ummah must wipe the dust of division from its face and return to the circle of unity, because power is gathered in unity.

Unity is not a temporary tactic or a time-bound expediency, but a deep, permanent, and fundamental strategy in which the secret of victory shines like a diamond.

The enemies see the secret of their success in dominating Islamic lands to plunder them, as well as in preventing the formation of a united Islamic Ummah, as lying in only one strategy: "creating division and conflict" among the Islamic Ummah through various methods, which they have been pursuing for centuries.

But alongside the importance and necessity of unity for the Islamic Ummah, we can consider Iranian national-Islamic unity a hundred times more essential – a necessity on which the very existence of our identity depends.

The enemies now consider Islamic Iran as the factor behind the formation of the power core of the Islamic Ummah and recognize Iran as the center of Ummah-orientedness in the Islamic world. Therefore, they have focused all their enmity on the destruction of Islamic Iran. With years of experience in hostility and employing various methods, the enemy has concluded that the destruction of Iran and their success depend on creating national, religious, and ethnic division in Iran, and on this basis, they have designed their sinister plans.

Today, for our Iran, unity is even more obligatory than daily bread, and cohesion appears stronger than any weapon against the enemies, and the enemy fears it.

Although the enemy has failed so far, we should not be oblivious to the enemy's cunning and deceit.

Greater attention to unity, as well as integrating the demands of the Sunni community into national demands, and increasing the participation of Sunni elites and those who care in various management levels, and bringing them closer to the center of decision-making and decision-taking, can neutralize the dormant divisive cells planted by the enemy in the Sunni community.

Now is the decisive day for Islamic Iran, and certainly the nobility and loyalty of Sunnis will serve the durability and permanence of Iran. Just as over the past 48 years, Sunnis of every ethnicity and language have been an important and essential pillar of the security and authority of this land, today we need to hold their hands more firmly and, reciprocally, hold each other's.

Sunnis, alongside all Iranians, are partners and sharers in this land, the system, and the revolution, and have not and do not fall short in accompanying the path of unity.
