Today, the Ummah faces occupation, Islamophobia, poverty, injustice, and the erosion of human dignity. These challenges demand cooperation rather than confrontation. Respectful dialogue, mutual understanding, scholarly engagement, and practical collaboration in humanitarian, educational, and social initiatives should define relations between Sunni and Shia communities.
Islamic Unity and the Strengthening of Sunni-Shia Relations
The martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei marks a moment of profound reflection for the Muslim Ummah. Beyond political discourse, his enduring legacy includes his consistent call for Islamic unity in the face of common challenges confronting Muslims worldwide.
 
At a time when sectarian divisions have too often been exploited to weaken the Ummah, he repeatedly emphasized that the shared foundations of Islam are far greater than the differences among its schools of thought. The Holy Qur'an calls upon believers to "hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided" (Surah Aal Imran: 3:103). This principle remains the cornerstone of any genuine effort to strengthen Sunni-Shia relations.

The cause of Palestine and the defence of Al Aqsa have demonstrated that Muslims from different schools of thought can stand together for justice while maintaining their respective theological traditions. Unity does not require uniformity. It requires sincerity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to the higher objectives of Islam.
 
May this occasion renew our determination to strengthen fraternity, reject sectarian hatred, and work together for a peaceful, dignified, and united Ummah that serves humanity with wisdom, compassion, and justice.
