U.S.-Israel strike on Iran:

"In the Face of Aggression, Iran Has the Right to Nuclear Deterrence"

By: Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, Malaysia
Israel, an undeclared nuclear state with hundreds of warheads, is protected and funded by the U.S., despite refusing to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Iran, a signatory of the NPT, is demonized, sanctioned, and attacked without proof of weaponization.
"In the Face of Aggression, Iran Has the Right to Nuclear Deterrence"
Nuclear deterrence, wrong for all or right for all who are threatened

The prominent Malaysian Islamic council has condemned the recent Israeli military aggression against Iran calling that as part of systematic strategy to destabilize the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, the President of Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM), has issued a statement following the 12-day US-Israeli aggression against Iran demanding a global recognition of the right to deterrence and defense for all nations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

“If peace is truly the goal, then justice must be equal, not selective” said the Malaysian scholar stressing that nuclear deterrence is either wrong for all — or the right of all who are threatened.

The following is the full text of the statement by Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, the President of Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations.

U.S.-ISRAEL STRIKE ON IRAN:
"In the Face of Aggression, Iran Has the Right to Nuclear Deterrence"

In light of the recent illegal and provocative military strike by the United States and Israel on Iranian territory, we unequivocally condemn this act as a blatant violation of international law, sovereignty, and peace.

This aggression is part of a systematic strategy of regime change, destabilization, and nuclear hypocrisy long practiced by the United States and its Zionist ally.

The Real Threat: Nuclear Apartheid

It is unacceptable that the world continues to tolerate a nuclear apartheid:

Israel, an undeclared nuclear state with hundreds of warheads, is protected and funded by the U.S., despite refusing to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Iran, a signatory of the NPT, is demonized, sanctioned, and attacked without proof of weaponization.

This contradiction reveals not a legal concern, but a political one – a desire to keep Muslim and independent nations militarily weak and perpetually vulnerable to Western-Israeli aggression.

Right to Self-Defense Includes Nuclear Deterrence

Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, every state has the inherent right to self-defense. If nuclear weapons are the only language the aggressors understand, then Iran’s pursuit of nuclear deterrence is a rational, strategic, and defensive response to:

● Decades of sanctions, assassinations, cyberattacks (e.g., Stuxnet),

● The murder of its scientists,

● Threats of military invasion, and

●Recent bombings of sovereign military facilities.

The world must acknowledge that sovereign nations facing existential threats have the right to possess any means necessary to deter genocide.

Double Standards Breed Insecurity

The same powers that invaded Iraq on lies, destroyed Libya after it surrendered its weapons, and destabilized Syria and Yemen — are not in a moral position to lecture others on “non-proliferation.”

The lesson is clear:
Surrendering your defense leads to destruction. Deterrence is survival.

Our Demands:

1. Immediate cessation of all U.S.-Israeli military actions against Iran.

2. An end to sanctions and economic warfare against sovereign nations.

3. Universal disarmament beginning with Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal.

4. Global recognition of the right to deterrence and defense for all nations, especially those targeted by the hegemonic war machine.

“If peace is truly the goal, then justice must be equal, not selective. Nuclear weapons are either wrong for all — or the right of all who are threatened.”
