Desired situation is establishment of a new Islamic civilization

According to the Taghrib News Agency, the text of the Secretary-General's statement is as follows:
Desired situation is establishment of a new Islamic civilization
In the flourishing era of Islamic civilization, religious study centers in our Islamic world were the starting point for progress and development in all fields. These centers met the needs of society in both worldly and spiritual matters. They advanced in material fields such as medical sciences, engineering, astronomy, agriculture, and technology, while also addressing individual and social needs in human relations, communication between individuals, and the relationship between humans and the Creator, as well as spiritual and emotional education. Evidence of this can be found in the history of Islamic civilization and the treasures of scientific, human, and educational knowledge that have remained from that era.
However, due to external and internal historical reasons, these studies lagged behind the needs of society and often reduced to writing commentaries and marginal notes that had no connection to the realities of individuals and society. Then, with the emergence of the blessed Islamic Awakening, this stagnation in religious studies became a movement. This awakening led to interaction among religious study centers in Qom, Najaf, Al-Azhar, Al-Zaytuna, Al-Qarawiyyin, and other centers of contemporary civilizational movement. Nevertheless, this interaction has not bridged the gap between the current situation and the desired situation. The desired situation is the establishment of a new Islamic civilization and the enhancement of the status of the Islamic world on the global stage.
The victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the increasing attention to Islam as a global project for solving global challenges, alongside the rapid advancement in technology, computer sciences, artificial intelligence, and the expansion of social media culture, has created a new reality that Islamic study centers must respond to in collaboration with universities and research centers.
This noble perspective towards a better future for Islamic study centers opens new horizons that diminish the significance of differences within the framework of Islamic civilization and should not distract us from larger issues.
The words of the Supreme Leader, Imam Khamenei, on the occasion of the centenary of the re-establishment of the Qom seminary by the great scholar, Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Karim Haeri (may his soul rest in peace), emphasize the necessity of this elevation and serve as a factor for the proximity of Islamic study centers across the entire spectrum of Islamic civilization, and in this regard, efforts must be made.
