In a speech during the meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers held in Cairo, Mansour voiced support for the recommendations of the head of the monitors mission delegation in Syria Mohammad Ahmad Mustafa al-Dabi, who recommended that the mission continue its work in addition to speeding up the political process and launching national dialogue.

Mansour lauded al-Dabi and the monitors mission members in preparing the report which reflects the reality of what is happening in Syria, describing the report as bold for mentioning facts many continue to ignore and deny.

The Minister pointed out that the report's allusion to the presence of armed opposition was an issue that he had called for including in Arab League resolutions but these suggestions were always rejected, citing the examples listed in the report of the use of violence against government forces and dangerous weapons, asking where such weapons came from and who supplied them.

He went on to stress that media exaggeration of events and number of people killed make the situation more complicated, noting that the report shows that peaceful demonstrations were not interfered with by Syrian security forces.

Mansour also lauded the report for uncovering facts that were obfuscated by media, including information regarding the death of a French journalist.

He concluded by saying that after Syria's cooperation and al-Dabi's report, the suspension of Syria's membership in the Arab League must be annulled and the economic sanctions must be lifted, calling for voting on this issue if necessary and stressing the need for the Arab League to play an active role to resolve the crisis and stop those who seek to internationalize the issue.
