In a post on his X account early Sunday, Pezeshkian said that if the Americans considered themselves “warriors,” they should confront Iran’s courageous military forces.
“Why are they waging war against civilian infrastructure, food resources and people’s livelihoods?” the Iranian president asked.
Pezeshkian also questioned the humanitarian consequences of the US actions, saying, “If they have any sense of humanity, why are they denying people access to water, food and medicine?”
The Iranian president stressed that the Iranian people would not bow to coercion and intimidation.
“The Iranian people will not surrender to force and bullying; Iran will never surrender,” he said.
A day earlier, at the 18th meeting of BRICS group of countries in New Delhi, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran will not bow to bullying or surrender its independence.
His remarks come after the US and its allies imposed new sanctions against Iranian airlines, tightening several more sanctions slammed against different economic, industrial and banking sectors in the country.
