We’ll open the gates of hell upon Saudi Arabia: Ansarullah official
A senior member of Yemen’s negotiating team has accused Saudi Arabia of leading a renewed military escalation against Yemen, warning that any further aggression would be met with a corresponding response.

Hamid Asim made the remarks in an interview with the Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA), saying Saudi Arabia was waging aggression against all of Yemen rather than only the Ansarullah movement, which he described as an important part of Yemeni society.
He accused Riyadh of carrying out “brutal and ruthless aggression” against Yemen through airstrikes and by arming, financing and supporting mercenaries, arguing that the campaign was an attempt to escape the kingdom’s regional and domestic crises.
Asim said Saudi Arabia had initiated its war against Yemen in 2015 and, together with its allies, had carried out more than 280,000 airstrikes against the country.
According to Asim, the deployment of thousands of military equipment and weapons by Saudi Arabia to the occupied Palestinian territories, the recruitment of tens of thousands of Yemeni and foreign mercenaries, and Saudi financial support for its allies were further evidence of Riyadh’s involvement in the conflict.
He dismissed recent calls by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir for a return to diplomacy, describing them as an attempt to conceal Saudi Arabia’s role in the conflict.
He argued that Saudi military actions demonstrated to the international community that Riyadh was directly involved in leading the war against Yemen.
“Their call for dialogue is a fallacy and an attempt to evade responsibility,” Asim said, warning that what he described as a combination of diplomatic overtures and military escalation would ultimately result in failure.
The senior Yemeni negotiator said the Yemeni side had consistently sought successful negotiations during rounds of talks held in Switzerland, Kuwait and Sweden, but accused US and Saudi ambassadors of obstructing progress.
He stressed that Yemen would continue defending itself against what he described as Saudi-US aggression.
“We will never hesitate to defend our homeland and people against Saudi-US aggression,” Asim said, adding that Yemen had fought its adversaries for 12 years and had also supported the people of Gaza in their confrontation with Israel and the United States.
He accused Saudi Arabia of siding with the US and Israel and refusing to implement a roadmap previously agreed upon by Sana’a and Riyadh.
Asim further said, “Escalation will be met with escalation, and blockade will be met with blockade,” he said, adding that Yemen had already begun taking such measures weeks earlier and would not retreat.
He said Saudi Arabia had no option but to respond to Yemen’s legitimate demands included in the roadmap, insisting that Riyadh had achieved no victory and would not accomplish its objectives against Yemen.
According to Asim, Yemen had demonstrated its ability to alter the course of the conflict and impose new equations at both the national and regional levels.
He reaffirmed Yemen’s support for the Resistance Front, expressing confidence that Yemen would ultimately emerge victorious.
Assessing the eventual outcome of the conflict, Asim said its conclusion would constitute a major victory for the Yemeni people and a defeat for the Saudi leadership.
