Tehran Friday prayer leader:

Successful operations by resistance axis exposed US and Israel’s strategic defeat

Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader said recent developments in West Asia and successful military operations by Iran, Yemen and Hezbollah against US and Israeli aggression have exposed the depth of Washington and Tel Aviv’s strategic defeat.

Addressing worshippers at Tehran University, Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard said the US policy of warmongering and military aggression had become a decisive factor in shifting the regional balance of power in favor of Iran, the Resistance Front and the regional nations.

“If it were not for US warmongering, we certainly would not be at this point of power today,” he said, adding that the strategic Strait of Hormuz would not have been under the control of Iran’s powerful armed forces and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), while US bases in the region would not have been reduced to what he described as “desolate places.”

The cleric said power in the strategic region of Southwest Asia was now based on a network of diverse capabilities and coordinated and allied actors, with Iran occupying a central position in the emerging regional order.

He warned that after suffering serious military and political setbacks, the enemy’s main strategic focus had shifted toward undermining stability and reducing national resilience.

“Undermining stability and reducing national resilience is impossible without national unity and cohesion,” Aboutorabi-Fard said, stressing that strengthening ties between the people and the government, as well as between the people and the state, was the main pillar of national resilience.

He accused Iran’s adversaries of highlighting divisions while concealing their own internal differences, stressing the need to prevent any discord from emerging within Iranian society.

Referring to Iran’s recent confrontations with the United States and Israel, Aboutorabi-Fard said the 12-day war and the “Ramadan and Hormuz victories” demonstrated that national cohesion was Iran’s greatest achievement.

He urged the Iranian people to safeguard what he described as a major national asset.

Turning to developments in Yemen, the Tehran Friday prayers leader called on Western powers to adopt a realistic assessment of the region’s new political and military realities.

He said the US administration, the Israeli regime and their allies must recognize that US and Western imperial power had fundamentally entered a period of decline and weakness, while a new political and military reality had emerged in the region.

“The era of the Western empire’s presence in the strategic region of Southwest Asia has come to an end,” Aboutorabi-Fard said, calling for an end to what he described as the “illegal and inhumane blockade” of Yemen.

He further said security and stability across West Asia, the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz could only be achieved by respecting the rights and dignity of Yemen and other powerful regional nations.

Aboutorabi-Fard also called on Muslim countries, particularly the Persian Gulf states, to take the lead in the emerging regional transformation by safeguarding their dignity and independence and promoting closer ties among Islamic governments and nations.

He said closer relations among Muslim nations would enhance their dignity and power, arguing that ties with the United States did not strengthen Iran’s regional standing.

Addressing the regional Muslim countries, the Iranian cleric emphasized, “Relations with Muslim nations, strengthening ties between Islamic governments and peoples, and joining hands with the powerful Iranian people will increase your dignity and power”.
