The Muslim Scholars Association of Lebanon, in a statement, announced: "The Zionist regime continues to commit crimes and killings against the people of southern Lebanon, targeting civilians, residential areas, and medical centers, which is a clear violation of international laws and charters."
The statement added: "Today, the Zionist regime carried out an airstrike on a residential building in the town of Kfar Rouman, resulting in the martyrdom of 10 people and the injury of 7 others. This attack came after the Zionist regime bombed and completely destroyed the Ghandour Hospital in Al-Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa yesterday."
The Muslim Scholars Association of Lebanon added: "The Zionist regime also warned residents of a building in the Deir Al-Zahrani area to evacuate, and only minutes later targeted the same building. Meanwhile, indiscriminate attacks and bombings against villages and towns in southern Lebanon continue."
What has the framework agreement achieved?
This Lebanese body further, referring to the escalation of Zionist aggressions, asked: "Lebanese have the right to ask: where is the 'framework agreement' that Lebanon concluded with the Zionist enemy? What happened to the American guarantees regarding this agreement? What is the value of agreements and guarantees that cannot protect civilians, stop aggressions, and safeguard Lebanon's sovereignty?"
The Muslim Scholars Association of Lebanon emphasized: "In a situation where the inefficiency and failure of this path have been proven, Lebanese officials must reconsider their options, reach an understanding with their people, and return to the model that has proven successful in protecting Lebanon and defending its sovereignty and dignity – namely, the golden equation of the army, the people, and the resistance."
The four demands of the Muslim Scholars Association of Lebanon
First: We call on the Lebanese government to withdraw from the "framework agreement" – an agreement that has failed to provide security and protection for Lebanon and to prevent the ongoing aggressions and killings by the Zionist regime.
Second: Issuing statements of condemnation and regret is no longer acceptable in the face of such crimes. The Lebanese government must take effective political, diplomatic, and practical measures to deter the enemy and protect citizens, and insist on Lebanon's right to resist occupation and defend its land and sovereignty.
Third: We condemn the decision of the US and Europe against the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), considering it a continuation of the policy of pressure and political blackmail, and an attempt to use international institutions in the service of US and Western interests.
Fourth: We commend the Yemeni armed forces for their success in shooting down a Saudi armed reconnaissance drone of the "Wing Loong" type, and we appreciate the stance of the Yemeni people and armed forces in confronting aggressions and defending the sovereignty and dignity of their people.
In conclusion, the Muslim Scholars Association of Lebanon emphasized: "The continuation of the Zionist regime's aggressions once again proves that this regime understands only the language of power. Protecting Lebanon cannot be achieved by relying on American promises and guarantees. Rather, this goal will be realized through the unity of the Lebanese and their adherence to their elements of power, especially the resistance – a resistance that, alongside the army and the people, has been the true fortress of the country against occupation and the enemy's greed."
