"Seyyed and the Book" – A Showcase of the Martyred Leader's Works in Baghdad

Iran's presence at this year's Baghdad International Book Fair carries a distinct flavor – from introducing the culture and literature of resistance to revisiting the thought and works of the martyred Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, which for the first time is being highlighted at the "Seyyed and the Book" event, one of the most important cultural events in Iraq.
"Seyyed and the Book" – A Showcase of the Martyred Leader
"Seyyed and the Book" is an opportunity to introduce the precious works of that great Imam to the cultural community and Iraqi audiences. Hujjat al-Islam Golpayegani, the son-in-law of the martyred Imam, is also present at this year's fair as a special guest, facilitating greater familiarity with the valuable works and books of the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei.

The presence of Iranian pavilions at this edition of the Baghdad International Book Fair is also of particular importance. Iranian publishers and cultural institutions, in the current circumstances, as cultural representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have found an opportunity to introduce not only the cultural and civilizational capacities of the country but also the literature and culture of resistance beyond Iran's borders to audiences.

Alongside the presence of Iranian publishers, the role of the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq is also noteworthy. Through its continuous presence at various book fairs in Iraq over the past years, this institution has strived to prepare the ground for greater familiarity of Iraqi society with the culture and civilization of Iran, resistance literature, and Iranian studies.

This year, Iran's Cultural Attaché has taken another step by introducing seven Iranian universities at the Baghdad Book Fair, providing an opportunity for Iraqi students to become acquainted with Iran's scientific and academic capacities and to pave the way for their higher education at reputable universities in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

From this perspective, Iran's presence at the Baghdad International Book Fair is not limited to displaying books. It is a narrative of today's Iran – from culture and thought to resistance and knowledge – for audiences who this time come to know Iran through the pages of books.
