Vice President of Int’l Union of Muslim Scholars, Mufti of Syria stress on role of scholars in strengthening unity, moderation

Sheikh Dr. "Essam al-Bashir," Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, during his visit to Damascus, met with Sheikh "Osama al-Rifai," the Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic, and discussed the grave responsibilities of religious scholars in preserving social cohesion and promoting moderation.

The Vice President of the Union met with the Mufti of Syria in Damascus to discuss the role of scholars in solidarity, strengthening moderation, and community unity. Sheikh Dr. "Essam al-Bashir," Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, during his visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus, met with Sheikh "Osama al-Rifai," the Mufti of the Syrian Republic.
 
This meeting, held in a brotherly and scholarly atmosphere, examined a range of issues concerning the Islamic Ummah, the reality of scientific and propagation activities, and the responsibility of scholars in serving societies and the issues of the Ummah.
 
During this meeting, the two sides exchanged views on "the responsibility of scholars in the unity of word, awareness-raising, consolidating the values of moderation and centrism, and strengthening the cohesion and integrity of society."
 
These discussions took place within the framework of emphasizing the importance of the scholarly and propagation role of religious scholars in facing challenges and strengthening unity and the solidity of societies.
 
Sheikh Dr. Essam al-Bashir, expressing his pleasure at this meeting with Sheikh Osama al-Rifai, referred to the distinguished scholarly and propagation position of the Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic and his brilliant record in serving knowledge, Islamic propagation, and the issues of the Ummah.
 
At the conclusion of this meeting, al-Bashir wished Sheikh Osama al-Rifai success on his path of knowledge and efforts, and asked Almighty God to protect Syria, its people, and its scholars, and to bring full security, stability, and progress to this country.
