Slogan for 40-day commemoration of Martyred Leader:

“We remain true to our pledge until the dawn of emergence”

The slogan “We remain true to our pledge until the dawn of emergence” has been selected as the special theme for nationwide commemorations marking the 40th day since the funeral and burial of Iran’s martyred Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, and members of his family.

According to Taqrib News Agency (TNA), citing the media office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the slogan will be used for special programs being held in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad and other parts of the country.

The commemorations coincide with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS), the eleventh Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and also the beginning of the Imamate of Imam al-Mahdi (AS), the 12th and last Shia Imam, giving the slogan a particular religious significance.

According to an announcement by the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, will host the main 40-day memorial ceremonies in Tehran, Qom and Mashhad.

The Tehran ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the prayer hall of Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla.

A ceremony in Qom will take place on Wednesday, August 19, following the evening prayers at the shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masuma (SA).

The Mashhad ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, coinciding with the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan al-Askari (AS), following the evening prayers at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).

In addition to the main ceremonies, numerous commemorative programs will be held at holy sites, public squares and other venues across Iran, as well as in several cities outside the country.
