Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad:

Returning to the Prophet's (PBUH) conduct is the path to realizing the unity of the Islamic Ummah

Mawlawi Yaqubi, emphasizing the central role of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in creating the unity of the Islamic Ummah, said: "Returning to the Prophetic conduct, strengthening Islamic commonalities, and avoiding religious differences are the most important paths to realizing the unity and solidarity of the Islamic Ummah."
Returning to the Prophet
Mawlawi Alireza Yaqubi, the Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan on Tuesday at a gathering of Shia and Sunni scholars and intellectuals titled "The Great Prophet, the Axis of the Sacred Unity of the Islamic Ummah," held at the Quds Hall of the Astan Quds Razavi Library, while appreciating the presence of scholars, intellectuals, and officials, referring to the statements of the martyred leader, added: "Whoever is closer to the line of the revolution and Islam will also be closer to the blows, attacks, slanders, conspiracies, assassination attempts, malice, and treachery of the arrogant front."

Pre-Islamic Arab society was plagued by prejudices and discrimination

The Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad, stating that to understand the position of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in creating unity, we must look at his conduct and method in historical context, said: "To clarify the centrality of unity in the noble existence of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for the Islamic Ummah, we must look at the situation of the Arabian Peninsula before the Prophet's (PBUH) mission."

He continued: "Before the Prophet's (PBUH) mission, the Arabian Peninsula was a mixture of ignorant prejudices, class discrimination, racism, and most importantly, a lack of law. More dangerous than that was a rule that governed God's servants solely through force and the sword."

Mawlawi Yaqubi stated: "In such a tense atmosphere, people's lives were marked by conflict, clashes, and bloodshed. In such conditions, it was very difficult to imagine that a society could be formed in this land where people would move in a single direction based on a shared vision. But the Holy Prophet (PBUH), with the centrality of monotheism, the rejection of idolatry, the fight against racism, and the establishment of brotherhood, was able to create one of the masterpieces of human history, bringing together disparate people."

Referring to the view of the Holy Quran on the issue of unity, he stated: "Unity in the view of the Holy Quran is based on several fundamental principles, one of the most important of which is the equality of human beings."

The Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad, referring to the noble verse "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you," noted: "With the revelation of this verse, racist thinking and ignorant superiority claims were negated, and piety became the criterion of human value."

He considered the second principle to be the sanctity of faith, and added: "The third principle is based on affection, love, unity, and avoiding division. The Holy Quran has called Muslims to preserve this bond and avoid discord and division."

Mawlawi Yaqubi, referring to practical examples of the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) conduct in consolidating the unity of the Islamic Ummah, said: "One of the important masterpieces that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) accomplished in human history was establishing a pact of brotherhood and equality among the scattered Arab tribes – tribes that had been in conflict for years, attacking each other, holding grudges, and shedding much blood."

He added: "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) transformed these ignorant prejudices through the plan of brotherhood and the pact of fraternity into peace and solidarity, and founded a society in which tribal differences and ignorant prejudices gave way to Islamic brotherhood."

The Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad also, referring to the Prophet's (PBUH) treaties, said: "In the treaties that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) established for the administration of Islamic society, various groups and communities – including Muslims, Jews, and other groups present in society – enjoyed their rights within the framework of the Islamic system."

The Farewell Sermon is a global charter of unity and human dignity

He considered the Prophet's (PBUH) Farewell Sermon as one of the most important unity-building documents and teachings in Islamic history, and stated: "The Prophet's (PBUH) Farewell Sermon can be considered a global charter of unity and human dignity in human history – a sermon whose teachings are important for all human beings, both Muslim and non-Muslim."

Mawlawi Yaqubi, referring to passages from this sermon, stated: "One of the important points that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) emphasized in this sermon was the equality of human beings. By emphasizing that all human beings originate from a single source, he explained the basis of unity and solidarity in human society."

He continued: "By emphasizing human dignity, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) removed ignorant criteria such as race, ethnicity, and social class from the foundations of human superiority, and established Islamic society on the basis of justice and equality."

Mutual respect between men and women is one of the Prophet's (PBUH) unity-building teachings

The Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad, referring to another part of the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) teachings, stated: "Mutual respect between men and women and the observance of their mutual rights are among other teachings emphasized in the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) conduct."

He added: "By emphasizing the mutual rights of men and women, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) emphasized the necessity of observing what is right and preserving human dignity in the social system of Islam. This balanced view is one of the distinguishing features of the Islamic system in the realm of social unity and solidarity."

Mawlawi Yaqubi also considered entrusting religious authority to the Book and the Sunnah, and the dignity and status of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), as other important components of Islamic thought, and stated: "The Book of God, the tradition of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and attention to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) can serve as common axes on the path of the unity of the Islamic world."

Islamic unity must also be reflected in the economy and people's livelihoods

Stating that unity is not merely a sloganistic and political issue, he said: "If unity is to be realized in the true sense in the Islamic system, this unity must also be reflected in various political, economic, cultural, and social spheres."

The Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad added: "Attention to people's livelihoods and economy is also part of the responsibility of Islamic society, and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) paid special attention to protecting people's rights and preventing their infringement in his conduct."

He noted: "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) declared many blood feuds and claims related to blood shed during the pre-Islamic era null and void, so that the ground for the reproduction of past grudges and differences would be eliminated, and Islamic society could move on the basis of peace, brotherhood, and unity."

Mawlawi Yaqubi, referring to the current situation of the Islamic world, said: "If we are to achieve true unity today, we must return to the conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and remove his noble existence from the margins of religious differences."

He added: "We must make faith-based and Islamic commonalities the focus of our view, and follow in Islamic society the same view that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) charted for his Ummah, because the Prophet (PBUH) came for Ummah-building and tried to form a society based on monotheism, brotherhood, justice, and love."

The Friday Prayer Leader of Sangan Taybad stated: "If we want to create a good future for the Islamic system, Islamic culture, and the new Islamic civilization today, we must pay more attention to the personality and conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and implement his teachings in various spheres of social and political life."

Warning of the consequences of discord and division in the Islamic world, he stated: "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a personality beyond religious differences and belongs to the entire Islamic Ummah. We must not allow religious debates and differences to progress in such a way that the essence of Islam and the unity of the Islamic Ummah are affected."

Mawlawi Yaqubi emphasized: "We must be careful that the day does not come when Muslims, instead of focusing on the main enemies of Islam, engage in debates and conflicts with one another, and the name of Islam and religion becomes a tool for creating rifts among the Islamic Ummah."
