300 children killed since ceasefire announced in Gaza Strip

The UN fund for children’s rights (UNICEF) has revealed that at least 300 Palestinian children have lost their lives since the ceasefire was announced in the war-ravaged territory.

“A ceasefire that leaves an average of one child dead each and every day is failing children,” UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Edouard Beigbeder said.
 
Hundreds more children have been wounded, many severely, according to the UN agency.
 
UNICEF warned that Gaza’s children continue to face acute malnutrition, outbreaks of disease, shortages of clean water and severely damaged sanitation infrastructure.
 
Gaza’s Government Media Office said Thursday that Israel had committed 4,091 violations of the ceasefire agreement over 300 days, resulting in the killing of at least 1,254 Palestinians and the injury of another 4,121.
 
Gaza continues to endure Israeli attacks, severe humanitarian restrictions and widespread destruction despite nearly ten months under a formally declared ceasefire.
