Pursuit of justice for martyred Leader is a national priority

Speaking at his weekly press conference, Baqaei described the incident as an unprecedented crime against the Islamic Republic that led to the martyrdom of the Leader along with a number of senior political and military officials.

He said the demand for justice is shared across all branches of the Iranian government and by the Iranian public, adding that many people across the region, as well as Muslims and supporters of Iran worldwide, also want those responsible to be held accountable.

According to Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry will continue documenting the case and pursuing it through all relevant international legal institutions, organizations and judicial mechanisms.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make full use of every available legal and diplomatic avenue to ensure that this crime is pursued through all possible channels," he said.

Baghaei acknowledged that the scale of the incident may exceed the capacity of any single international body to address it comprehensively, but said this would not diminish Iran's determination to continue legal and diplomatic efforts. He added that Iran's judiciary has its own responsibilities in the case, while the Foreign Ministry will continue its work within its mandate.

Baghaei also condemned the recent U.S. attacks on Iran, alleging that civilian infrastructure in Khuzestan, Ilam and several other provinces was targeted.

He said bridges, public service facilities, healthcare centers and other civilian infrastructure essential to daily life had been damaged, characterizing the attacks as an assault on the lives, security and dignity of the Iranian people.

"No words can adequately describe the suffering of the affected people," Baghaei said, adding that Iran's national identity extends beyond its individual provinces and cities, and that attacks on one part of the country affect the nation as a whole.
