Akbar Behnam-Joo, in a meeting of the Arbaeen Facilities Headquarters held on Saturday, July 18, at the Karamat Hall of the Governorate, while commemorating the memory of the martyred leader (may his soul be sanctified), described Arbaeen 2026 as different from all previous years.
He said: "After the magnificent ceremony in Qom, the first pilgrim to Karbala was the Leader himself, who departed from here to the airport and then to Iraq. The unparalleled welcome of the Iraqi people to his body has made this year's Arbaeen route completely different, and we take this as a good omen and believe that these movements will bring about much greater unity of the Islamic Ummah."
The Governor of Qom, emphasizing that this year's Arbaeen is not merely a pilgrimage ceremony, stated: "Today, we are in a state of war, and the best opportunity is to show our unity with the Muslims of the world in this great gathering. Condemning global arrogance and exposing the humanitarian crimes of America and aggressor Israel against the Iranian people are among our most important missions during these days."
Referring to the change in the atmosphere of Iraq after the rare welcome of the body of the Leader of the Revolution, he added: "In previous years, there were certain considerations in Iraq, but this year, this welcome and support have opened the way for a more active and resonant presence."
The Governor of Qom, addressing the Mowkeb (procession) organizers and appreciating their efforts during the funeral ceremony, defined a new mission and said: "This year, cultural processions must work exceptionally. It is not just about accommodation, food, and transportation of caravans. You must hold discussion sessions on the oppression of the Iranian nation and the crimes of the enemy, so that we can achieve the highest political and social benefit."
