Funeral Procession of the Martyred Leader in Iraq Demonstrates Solidarity Between Two Nations

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, emphasized that the anticipated funeral procession for the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq will serve as a powerful demonstration of solidarity between the Iraqi and Iranian peoples.

Highlighting the deep historical and multi-faceted relationship between Baghdad and Tehran, al-Hakim asserted that both sides desire an independent and fully sovereign Iraq with complete decision-making autonomy.
 
He noted that he had never heard Iranian leaders express a desire for Iraq to be subordinate or for Iran to interfere in Iraqi affairs, but rather a consistent call for an independent and sovereign Iraq.
 
Addressing the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, al-Hakim expressed the extensive sympathy of the Iraqi people for his assassination and the “treacherous and surprise terrorist act” that led to his demise.
 
He urged the Iraqi people to participate in large numbers in the funeral procession, stating, “The people of Iraq express solidarity with the Iranian nation, their suffering, and the Martyred Leader in this procession.” He called upon Iraqis to join the funeral ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei, thereby showcasing the message of solidarity between the two nations.
 
The body of the Martyred Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is scheduled to be transferred to Iraq for a funeral ceremony at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala and Imam Ali (AS) shrine in Najaf.
 
The martyred Leader will be laid to rest at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam in Mashhad on Thursday July 9.
