Unity, Resistance, and Defense of Sanctities: The Three Pillars of the martyred Leader’s Vision

In an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), Sheikh Abdul Jabbar al-Fahdawi, head of the Majlis al-Ulama of al-Rabat al-Muhammadi, highlighted the strategic and spiritual legacy of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing his ideology as a permanent roadmap for the survival of the Ummah.
Unity, Resistance, and Defense of Sanctities: The Three Pillars of the martyred Leader’s Vision
Reflecting on the profound impact of the martyred Leader’s teachings, Sheikh al-Fahdawi emphasized that the vision of Ayatollah Khamenei was built upon three unbreakable pillars: the unity of the Islamic Ummah, the culture of resistance, and the uncompromising defense of Islamic sanctities.

When asked about the defining characteristic of the martyred Leader’s approach to Islamic unity, Sheikh al-Fahdawi noted that Ayatollah Khamenei viewed unity not as a fleeting political slogan or a regional interest of the Islamic Republic, but as a fundamental Sharia principle and an essential objective of Islam.

“From his perspective, unity is a sacred reality that gathers the Ummah of Muhammad (PBUH), reviving its dignity, cohesion, and religious identity,” al-Fahdawi stated. He added that the martyred Leader consistently urged Muslims to focus on shared theological and civilizational commonalities, respecting the diversity of Islamic schools of thought (madhahib) while strictly rejecting sectarianism—a tool frequently exploited by hostile powers to weaken the Muslim world.

The Iraqi scholar further elaborated on the martyred Leader’s stance on the protection of Islamic holy sites, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque. He noted that for Ayatollah Khamenei, the defense of these sanctities was never the concern of a single nation or state, but a collective responsibility of the entire Islamic world.

“Sanctities are the symbols of the unity, identity, and shared mission of all Muslims,” al-Fahdawi explained. “The more the Ummah stands united in guarding its sanctities, the stronger its cohesion becomes, increasing its capacity to confront divisive and hegemony-seeking projects.”

Addressing the inseparable link between resistance and the dignity of the Ummah, Sheikh al-Fahdawi remarked that the martyred Leader viewed resistance (Muqawama) not merely as a military option, but as a comprehensive system of faith, ethics, and politics.

“Islam does not accept submission to oppression,” the scholar said. “The martyred Leader believed that in a world governed by the logic of power and hegemony, a nation without the power to defend itself cannot live with dignity, nor can it protect its religion and values from an unjust global order.”

When asked to summarize the vast legacy of the martyred Leader in a single sentence, Sheikh al-Fahdawi described it as a testament to “conscious faith, the unity of Muslims, adherence to the Muhammadan principles, and steadfastness against tyranny.”

He concluded that this path remains the only way to preserve the faith, achieve true sovereignty, and restore the lost dignity of the Islamic Ummah.
