Trump's insult to Mecca is a sign of hostility towards Islamic sanctities
A member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, condemning the insult attributed to Donald Trump against Mecca, described the act as an overt assault on the holiest site for Muslims and the sentiments of the Islamic Ummah, and emphasized: "Silence in the face of such insults paves the way for repeated assaults on sanctities, and the Islamic world must adopt a unified and decisive stance in defense of its religious values."

According to a report by the Taghrib News Agency, remarks attributed to Donald Trump regarding Mecca have sparked a wave of condemnation in popular and religious circles—an act that many have assessed as an assault on the most sacred shared symbol of Muslims worldwide.
These remarks come at a time when the Islamic Ummah, more than ever, emphasizes the need to strengthen unity and protect its sanctities. Observers also believe that targeting religious symbols is part of a broader process aimed at weakening Islamic identity, reducing sensitivity towards sanctities, and undermining the shared values of the Ummah.
Coinciding with the start of the new Hijri year, and given the spiritual and religious status of the Kaaba among Muslims, calls for taking a firm stance against any insult to Islamic sanctities and fulfilling the religious and social responsibility to defend them have once again intensified.
In this regard, Allama Khalid Musa, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, in an interview with Al-Masirah TV, described the insult to the Kaaba as a "great crime" and an overt assault on the holiest place on earth and the feelings of all Muslims.
He emphasized: "Nations, elites, scholars, and leaders of the Islamic world have a duty to adopt a clear and decisive stance against such actions that target sanctities and the religion of Islam."
Allama Musa stated that this act reflects the depth of enmity and rancor towards the Islamic Ummah and its sanctities, and noted that silence in the face of repeated insults to sanctities is unacceptable. Such actions must be seriously condemned, and their perpetrators held accountable.
He also pointed to the timing of the insult, calling it a targeted act, and said: "The occurrence of this incident on the eve of the new Hijri year and only a few days after the Hajj season is an attempt to humiliate Muslim sentiments and diminish the status of the Kaaba, the Holy Quran, and other Islamic sanctities."
The member of the Yemeni Scholars Association added: "Just as the Yemeni nation has previously taken a stand in defense of the Holy Quran and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), this time too it will declare its opposition to any insult to the Kaaba through popular presence and reaction."
In another part of his remarks, Allama Musa described the silence of certain parts of the Islamic world in the face of repeated assaults on sanctities as a sign of weakened responsibility and indifference to the fundamental issues of the Ummah, emphasizing that this situation is the result of the influence of cultures and ideas that have reduced sensitivity to religious values.
He also criticized the performance of some Islamic governments regarding the Two Holy Sanctuaries, and called on the Islamic Ummah to take responsibility for defending the Kaaba, the Quran, and other sanctities by returning to the teachings of the Holy Quran.
This Yemeni scholar warned that continued indifference to assaults on sanctities will have severe consequences for the Islamic Ummah, and that the only path to restoring dignity and authority lies in adhering to Islamic teachings and defending religious values.
In conclusion, he called on the people of Yemen to declare their opposition to any insult to the Kaaba through mass participation in protest gatherings, and emphasized that defending Islamic sanctities is a religious, moral, and collective duty, and that the Yemeni nation will continue to take a stand against any act that targets the sanctities of the Islamic Ummah.
