According to the Taghrib News Agency, Esmail Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, posted a message on his account along with an image of The New York Times, which described the US military attack on Tuesday night on the drinking water reservoirs of Sirik (Hormozgan) as a deliberate act and a war crime. He wrote:

"The French philosopher Simone Weil, in describing war, wrote: 'War is, more than an event in foreign policy, a manifestation of domestic policy.'

From this perspective, the US attack on the reservoirs supplying drinking water to the people of Sirik (Hormozgan) is one of those moments when the true nature of power unmasks itself.

A power that for decades had defined itself with deceptive concepts such as human rights, international order, and moral responsibility, when it destroys the drinking water reservoirs of the people, it is not just firing at a civilian facility, but at the foundation of its own false narrative.

Empires do not fall when their enemies grow strong; empires decline when they can no longer build a bridge between what they say and what they do.

The time of the decline of powers is not the moment of the destruction of the walls of their fortresses, but the moment of the collapse of the credibility of the words behind which they have hidden for years. What remains after this moral discredit is nothing but what T.S. Eliot described:

A shadow without color,
An enfeebled force,
A motion without movement!'"
