Iran will not hesitate to exercise its inherent right to self-defense
According to the Taghrib News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement regarding the aggressive actions of the United States against Iran. The text of this statement is as follows:

The US regime, under the pretext of the downing of an Apache helicopter of this country's terrorist army over the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday night, carried out brutal attacks against areas in the south of the country in the early minutes of Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The statement says: "These attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2(4), and the fundamental rule prohibiting the use of force in international relations. With these aggressive actions, the ruling administration of the United States once again demonstrated its criminal and warmongering nature."

Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "In response to the US military aggression against Iran and the clear violation of our country's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in exercising the inherent right of legitimate self-defense, severely struck US bases and assets in the region that were the origin of these aggressions."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while strongly condemning the US crime of military aggression against Iran, once again reminds all countries in the region, especially those on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf, of their legal and moral responsibility to prevent any use of their territory and facilities by the terrorist US army and the Zionist regime for the design, organization, execution, and support of aggressive actions against Iran. It warns that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate in exercising its inherent right to self-defense, including by targeting the origin of attacks, as well as bases and logistical facilities used for the execution and support of aggressive operations against Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also once again reminds the United Nations, particularly its Security Council and the Secretary-General, of their responsibility to safeguard international peace and security and to hold the aggressor parties accountable.
